Fantasy sports

Fantasy sports are very popular throughout the world with the leagues for football, cricket. A Fantasy sport is a game where fantasy owners prepare a team that competes against other fantasy owners based on the statistics generated by individual players or teams of a professional sport. Probably the most common variant converts statistical performance into points generated by a fantasy team, and are typically simple enough to be manually calculated by a "league commissioner".Fantasy Sports is estimated to have a $3-$4 Billion annual economic impact across the sports industry. Fantasy sports become more popular with the growth of the internet especially in the mid-1990s.The Fantasy Sports Trade Association was formed in 1999 to represent the growing industry. The fantasy cricket first started in a big way with media houses like ESPN Star Sports starting the Super Selector fantasy game. Different fantasy sports that are popular like fantasy baseball, fantasy cricket, fantasy football, fantasy soccer, fantasy basketball etc.

Some fantasy sports are given below

Fantasy baseball :
Fantasy baseball is a game wherby players manage imaginary baseball teams based on the performances of the player in the real time. And the differnt player compete each other on the basis of their scores in the real time. Many fantasy leagues are played for money. The pool of money is collected and then distributed to the winner(s) at the end of the season.

Fantasy Cricket :
Unlike the other fantasy sports Fantasy cricket users invloves selection of the team of 11 players. After each cricket match, based on the how many runs a batsman scores or how many wickets are taken by a bowler or how many run outs are made by a fielder etc overall performance of a player is judged and given points to them. The points are usually graded so a wicket would carry more points than say a single run. At the end the aggregate points is calculated and a points ladder is made with the user's team scoring the maximum points at the top of the ladder.

Fantasy basketball :
Fantasy League Basketball was inspired by fantasy baseball. Originally played by keeping track of stats by hand,it was popularized during the 1990s after the advent of the Internet. Those who play this game are sometimes referred to as General Managers, who draft actual NBA players and compute their basketball statistics.

Fantasy hockey :
In this game fantasy owners build a team that competes against other fantasy owners based on the statistics given by professional hockey player or team. All the hockey players are based on the teams and players of national hockey league.
