Sports Law encompasses a multitude areas of law brought together in unique ways. Issues such as antitrust, contracts, and torts are quite common.Sports laws defines the legal issues at work in the world of both amateur and professional sports. Defamation and privacy rights are also comes under Sports law.The National Collegiate Associationwas formed in 1906 to regulate intercollegiate sports competitions. The organisation deals with the series of bylaws govern the areas of ethical conduct, amateur eligibility, financial aid, recruiting, gender equity, championship events and academic standards. There are many sports organizations.The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is made up of each country's Olympic Committee, which in turn recognizes a national governing body for each Olympic related sport.In 1967, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) accepted that players have the right to form unions or players associations. Under federal labor law, players and owners must negotiate mandatory issues, those relating to hours, wages and working conditions, in good faith.
